Re: NOVA: Genetically Engineering Almost Anything
See also the University of Washington's Institute for Protein Design (which incidentally feeds work to the BOINC Rosetta@Home project); while not affiliated with Folding@Home or Stanford University, any current discussion of genetic engineering should at least acknowledge the work being done there, ...

Re: Recent Boost in F@H Output?
Before the CureCoin was launched, this was the data from the Client statistics by OS page (04 May IIRC): … Sorry that the data isn't formatted into a pretty table since time is against me. Unfortunately, snapshot core data isn't as robust as multiple core polling points over time, but it's a meanin...

Recent Boost in F@H Output?
I gathered some numbers from DC-stats , and it appears that, since May 11th, F@H output has increased ~30%. See PDF for spreadsheet. Could this apparent boost be due to the launch of CureCoin around May 11th, or are the statistics too fuzzy to make that kind of conclusion? edit: fixed broken pdf link

Re: FAH Control Client "Folding Power"
Or just use commands like these: FAHClient --send-pause FAHClient --send-unpause FAHClient --send-command 'option power full' These may not work if you're running the FAHClient as, for example, a systemd process, and issuing the commands as a user Edit: that scenario seems unlikely, given OP mentio...

Re: FAH Control Client "Folding Power"
Oh, but to the original post, your command would look likeWhere full could also be light or medium.
Code: Select all
telnet localhost 36330
options power=full
save
quit

Re: FAH Control Client "Folding Power"
iirc, you'll need to "save" as well prior to exiting, so that the whole string looks a lot like this:
Edit: too British
Code: Select all
telnet localhost 36330
pause
save
quit

Re: 2 of my 4 GPU's are in Ready/Download state for long tim
Same issue here (well, that one of my two nvidia GTX660 GPUs sits idle while the other one continues to work on its 24-hour work unit) Edit: forgot to mention that I'm running Linux While I don't have a log to provide (removing the "client-type" "advanced" flag appears to have bl...

Re: Project: 9408 (Run 628, Clone 0, Gen 0)
It's entirely possible that manufacturer overclocking is responsible for unstability leadig to failed work units, but not necessarily so (I have two EVGA 660SCs and no problems also in a linux box).
As for downclocking though, I'm afraid I haven't the foggiest /:

Re: Lost QRB Points
I've noticed that you have While that won't alone account for the PPD drop you mentioned, it will introduce several minutes of idle time each day between completing the previous work unit and downloading the next.
Code: Select all
<next-unit-percentage v='100'/>

Re: future core 17 WU?
I can usually tell when 17s are scarce because weekly PPD (I know, it should be points per week or something, but PPD is a recognizable shorthand) on stats websites drops. Also, because I'm on Linux and can only pull 17s, my weekly points ranking jumps when 15s are common, which is another way I can...

Re: F@H Kills Network On Boot Under Arch Linux
I'm afraid I'm getting mixed signals from you bruce; either there are too few people using Arch to merit a thread on this forum, in which case help should be off-forum and can benefit from being faster, or adam777 should slow down the resolution of his boot problem by conducting it on this forum for...

Re: F@H Kills Network On Boot Under Arch Linux
I'm also happy to provide more-live support via private messages or IRC; Arch Linux has been to me a cruel partner, but is also probably my favorite operating system for 24/7 crunching and folding to-date.

Re: F@H Kills Network On Boot Under Arch Linux
adam777, This suggestion may go against some other priorities you have in using NetworkManager, but I'm running arch linux [not 'testing' packages though] and foldingathome on boot and am not experiencing your issues; my network interface connection is controlled by the systemd files mentioned on th...

Re: future core 17 WU?
I know it's been said ad nauseam but if I have the option (and there is this option available) of getting 18k PPD for a Core_15 or 70K PPD for a Core_17 I want the 70K PPD. Easy enough if you feel that strongly- run the GPUs under Linux. Can confirm, running Linux guarantees Core_17 (well, for nvid...
