I poked around the Stanford Folding pages and didn't find anywhere to report this problem.
Can someone assist?

Thanks

Sorry, policy is that user names will not be changed unless deemed highly offensive. And it has to be REALLY bad.
There are some filters in place for the more explicit words.
IE... Look up "starts with" insert F WORD here, and you will see what comes up. Replaces the F word with underscores.... Such as ____this.
Understand that it is difficult to pick out what words will be filtered, as some could conflict with legitimate names. EX... If Butt was filtered, it would interfere with names like butterfield, butters, butterfly...ect....
Surely you must be talking about Hrs, Mins, and Secs.stev wrote:Can the filter check for the term SECKS then?
I've no idea what all of y'all are talking about, can someone explain what this buttsex is?stev wrote:So, if the user actually had an ID of ButtSex it would still be legit? Now that is so strange.
What are you proposing and WHAT is the exact practical nature of your problem?Unless you intend to isolate youths from the rest of Modern day society( ie you live as society hermits which gives offspring less chance of freedom of choice, of adapting to different environments) with the MASS Media everywhere you go everywhere you look, hear etc, Internet access EVERYWHERE libraries, coffee shops, mobile devices, peer pressure, ease of personal discrete communication etc etc). So with all this you expect minors to RARELY HEAR(read, see etc) such words as buttsex - but seeing it from IDs of a such scale science project is a MAJOR contributary factor?stev wrote:So, if the user actually had an ID of ButtSex it would still be legit? There are plenty of youths who are under the age of 13 that are folding for several of the teams out there. These minors will be reading other members IDs who are folding with them. It would be strange that ButtSecks passes any federal internet laws or laws that cover grants to Stanford for the working being done.
There is freedom of free speech in an adult forum, however pubic forums or in this case team ranks are for all ages besides adult in context. There are internet laws in each country covering online material exposed to minors, America is no exception either.
I can tell you how many people........slightly less than the number of STRAITJACKETS actually required. I'll refer you to my point about such people being sectioned under the UK mental health act. After all people that have such thought and actions from them are so INSANELY shallow, stupid ,prejudice, irrational that they naturally would be a significant hinderance to the cause. I mean come on a GOLDFISH has more of a chance with its cognitive ability to operate a PC than they do, never mind be a DONAR for FAH!stev wrote:P5-133XL, you have a valid point. If people viewing your team stats come across an offending/obscene name, they would have thoughts about your team and possibly this entire F@H effort.
A puzzling question then. How many people have been turned of to F@H for the cause due to offending/obscene names in the team rankings to just stop folding or not to just in the cause overall?
