Regular stats should be fixed now. The statsclassic site has been taken down permanently.

Working at this end now, thanks. Perhaps you should remove the link to the classic site when I go to the new one?

A ticket is in to get that link removed. The volunteer who does website maintenance should get to it eventually.

I sometimes wonder if in modern companies, that tickets being passed around takes longer than the actual work being achieved. Removing a link is 30 seconds of work.

This is not a company. The total number of researchers involved is relatively small and much of the website development and maintenance depends on volunteers given the necessary access. There is a lot of old pages that need updating, a volunteer who used to maintain the installation guides passed away a few years ago. They did get some new people over the last year or so, but it takes time and they have their regular jobs to do as well.

In addition the link is not provided in just one location, so removing all will take more than just 30 seconds.

But whoever has raised the ticket is presumably capable of just doing it?

They are being paid to be doing something else, in this specific case the developer works on the server code for the assignment, work, and stats servers. Also works with the recently hired developer to work on the new client code. Note that is intentionally stated as singular, up until the second half of last year there was a single paid developer for F@h code. A second developer was hired then specifically to work on the client code for version 8 that had been put on hold during the full COVID response.

My point is it can sometimes take just as long to file a request for work with someone than to just do it yourself.

Your point is based on ignorance, and more often false than true. Consequences of someone "just doing it yourself" often cost much more time than saved through lack of documentation and sometimes fixing things done incorrectly by someone not fully familiar with the current setup of something they do not work on regularly.

It's just a stats link on a web page.
I saved so much time and money in my job by just doing things myself instead of hiring electricians and plumbers.

It is a link, plus additional code to create a banner and not just on one page.

As for the second, good for you if you did those correctly. But if not it can be expensive to correct created health and safety issues. So far I have spent thousands of dollars correcting work done by a prior owner of my house who did it himself "instead of hiring electricians and plumbers" and carpenters. That included improperly installed outlets that sparked when used.

I also would not like to ever total up how many hours of the job I retired from a year and half ago that were cleaning up after someone who decided to just do something themselves instead of getting it done by the persons who were supposed to do it. They assumed they knew what they were doing, or had no appreciation for the cascade of problems that resulted from doing it incorrectly.

The server at statsclassic dot foldingathome dot org has been down for a few days. I read above that it is working, but I'm not seeing it.

You misread. I specifically stated that statsclassic is down permanently.
