It is a random uuid generated by the client. If the hardware id changes, a new uuid is generated.

I suppose one could mess with the server entries for a client instance. Don’t know.

I believe FAH ID isn't sensitive. But if one wants to sensor it, their choice

Yes, it is not sensitive. It is a SHA256 hash of the (randomly-generated) private client key. There is no way to recover the private key from the SHA256 hash.

Which Nvidia GPU? It doesn't show up in the section of log you posted, not all projects get assigned to all types of GPUs from Nvidia.

It's weird that the AS wouldn't be giving you any work when you have a 5090. Usually a lack of assignments means your GPU is so old and slow that it's not worth sending anything to it at the current time, but I don't think a GPU can be too FAST to get assignments. If there are no big WUs that would really make that GPU shine, I think it's supposed to be giving you smaller WUs. In theory, even a tiny little WU intended to give an ancient NVS 4200M something to do for a few hundred PPD would be given to an RTX 5090 if there were truly no other clients available.

This part stands out to me:

Code: Select all

20:37:06:I1:WU156:Requesting WU assignment for user Scorpuk team 35947
20:37:06:I1:OUT71:> POST https://assign4.foldingathome.org/api/assign HTTP/1.1
20:37:07:I1:OUT71:< HTTP/1.1 200 HTTP_OK
20:37:07:I1:WU156:Received WU assignment 4t-giLKfhMIMsTIaBrN9RGwI87crF7E2JO_3pFEqIgw
20:37:07:I1:WU156:Downloading WU
20:37:07:I1:OUT72:> POST https://ds03.scs.illinois.edu/api/assign HTTP/1.1
20:37:07:I1:OUT72:< HTTP/1.1 503 HTTP_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE
20:37:07:E :OUT72:HTTP_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE: {"error":{"message":"Please wait","code":503}}
20:37:07:I1:WU156:Retry #10 in 8 mins 32 secs
So you were given an assignment from the assignment server, but when attempting to download it, the work server that holds the WU itself asked your client to wait before trying again. But instead of waiting and retrying the download, it gave up on the assignment and asked for a new one (and kept getting rejected).

That's different from all the other errors, where the assignment server itself is saying that there is no work available for your GPU:

Code: Select all

20:54:12:I1:WU156:Requesting WU assignment for user Scorpuk team 35947
20:54:12:I1:OUT74:> POST https://assign6.foldingathome.org/api/assign HTTP/1.1
20:54:12:I1:OUT74:< HTTP/1.1 503 HTTP_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE
20:54:12:E :OUT74:HTTP_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE: {"error":"No appropriate assignment"}
20:54:12:I1:WU156:Retry #12 in 8 mins 32 secs
