Deadline too short for integrated GPU

Post by qysnn »

Hi folks,

I tried adding the integrated GPU on my 7900x to F@H. It is recognized as "gpu:11:0 Raphael [Ryzen 7000 Series iGPU]" and it automatically got an assignment from project 12701 with core 23. Yet the expiration deadline for this work unit is 48 hours (24 hours timeout) and the ETA of this unit (based on the first 6%) is 1.2 days. That means I won't be able to finish this unit unless I keep my computer on 75% of the time in the next two days, which seems a bit infeasible.

1. Is this project intended for powerful GPUs and it is an accident that it got assigned to integrated GPUs? If so the assignment logic should be improved to prevent the waste of energy (as integrated GPUs likely cannot finish it in time)
2. If this project is intended for integrated GPUs, then its deadline should be relaxed

Attempts are made to assign work units that will complete, and usually don't require folding 24/7, but at times errors are made.

But looking up this project at https://folding.lar.systems/projects/ ... e/12701 it shows that class of iGPU only taking a bit over 5 hours on that project. Is it possible you have another system slowdown while you are looking at your numbers? What kind of PPD does the project report?
Fold them if you get them!

Thanks for sharing these stats. Currently the estimated PDD for my iGPU is only 15750, which is far below the posted statistics. I have the latest driver, Win11 23H2. Task manager shows all the video workloads are on my discrete GPU and FAH is the only program using the integrated iGPU. It is weird.

Could you please disable iGPU.
It tops out at 20k plus minus. There aren't many WUs available for these iGPUs, and that iGPU brings heat, which could impact your CPU. That project will be disabled for that iGPU. Well, it should have been disabled from the get go :/

Thanks for the report

Yeah I figured the same and have removed the iGPU slot. This is v7 client.

with v7, inside of your fah data folder there should be a file called GPUs.txt. Find it, and search for Ryzen 7000 Series iGPU inside of it. Copy the whole line associated with the search result and paste it here.
Thanks
