Stats falling

Post by silverpulser »

I have noticed that for the last few days the temperature on my GPU has dropped about 10 degrees, even though my GPU load remains at 100% or near. As a result my PPD have dropped. This is on core 24 projects.

Any ideas why?

Every project poses unique hardware requirements, and points will vary project to project for just about any combination of gear.

Due to all the variation in projects they can't possibly set base points so that points return will be consistent on every single project. Since projects are assigned to various species of hardware the best they can do is to find the happy medium within those assignment ranges. Power requirements for both the GPU and CPU will vary, along with memory requirements for both. Any strengths or weaknesses within your system contribute to points payout not being a linear thing.

If you track your projects and completion using HFM you can often find trends.

There are also a number of utilities you can use that will show you the differences in power draw and other various factors of your hardware. These changes are the primary reason that your points don't stay consistent.
Fold them if you get them!
