8.3.18 - WU do not restart after reboot.

Post by Craig_S. »

Running the new 8.3.18 client and if I need to reboot the client doe not restart the WU properly, they quickly count up to 100% then drop to where they were pre reboot and sit in that state for sometime then quickly count to 100% and then again fall back to the the percentage pre reboot.

The only solution I've found is to Abort the work units, then get new ones which is a waste of already consumed compute time so much so that I'm considering abandoning 8.3.18

What OS and version?
Is it just GPU units that do this? Or CPU and GPU?

If Windows, do you logout before reboot? Does that matter?

What is in the log?

It is both GPU and CPU WU's

OS is W10 Pro 22H2 OS build 19045.4780
GPU Nvidia RTX 4060 Driver 560.94, Previous drivers were flaky Between 552.44 and 560.94 the NVIDIA drivers cause lots of crashes, These are stable versions I found.

CPU is AMD Ryzen 9 5950 32GB ram @ 3200

System is stable as Stated above, No issues running Boinc or Folding, just the odd FAH crash or WU stop WU'ing. Pausing Everything gets the WU running again. Havent seen the reboot issue since my initial posting so it may have been some issue with drivers.

will ret to re-duplicate it and attach logs. (if you can direct me how to get.)

I’ve been told it’s not necessary, but I always quit fah via sys tray before a system restart.
