How to turn off onboard GPU

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though AMD has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

How to turn off onboard GPU

Post by OstermanDS »

Onboard GPU 19:0 Raphael [Ryzen 7000]
This adds little to my computing but seems to be source of over heating on my motherboard.
How to I prevent this from folding without shutting off all GPUs?
Stress testing of the CPU alone stays in the Mid 60sC but Folding with the onboard GPU runs at 90C.
Want to keep the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT folding, fast and running at reasonable temperatures.
Thanks

Which version of the folding client do you use? If you use 7.6.xx then you can easily set it to keep that slot paused unless you unpause it manually.

Worst case you can disable it in the bios, but settings vary motherboard to motherboard.
Fold them if you get them!

It's always better to disable iGPUs in the BIOS whenever it's possible.
