Hi,
I joined a group of colleagues. The group lists my actual work, now 41 WU's done, ca. 1,5 million credit points. I use my own name, with a unique (I assume) passkey. In FAHControl when I click the group I see my actual stats, if I click my name I see 23.7 million credits and 67K WU's. That doesn't make much sense to me. Why does F@H calculate user credits on a per name basis, and not on a passkey basis? Shouldn't be that hard to implement?
thanks,
Marc
rank on a username basis, not passkey?

Re: rank on a username basis, not passkey?
Please note that the usernames are not unique in F@H. Thus, multiple donors can have the same username. However, the Passkey is unique as it is based upon the username and email address. Now, if you only entered the username in your client, it will show all the points for that username. If you enter your username and passkey, it will only show the points associated with that combination of username and passkey.

Re: rank on a username basis, not passkey?
Thanks PantherX.
I understand the purpose of the passkey. FAHControl offers two clickable links: username and group. When I click the username I get folding statistics for everyone called "marc", which is really not interesting. The passkey is present in /etc/fahclient/config.xml, so I don't see why that information is not used to get "marc+passkey" statistics instead of only "marc" statistics.

Simply because that is the way it is currently coded … There are many pressures on the limited (1 person) development resource at the moment - this is one on many minor "niggles" that are somewhere in a queue to be looked at eventually (possibly - niggles that impact science take precedence over cosmetic ones) … for the current though it is what it is.
(just seen PantherX post after this - there may be something odd with what you are getting - but I gathered from past topics that the Donor page should simply user name (no passkey) and split that by team affiliations)

Re: rank on a username basis, not passkey?
Sorry, on FAHControl, I can see Name and Team. Name take me to the stats page which is my username stats. Clicking the Team takes me to the Team stats. Can you please upload a picture of what you're seeing?

Re: rank on a username basis, not passkey?
That's what I posted, yes: username and team. clicking username gives me stats of anyone sharing my username, which, again, is useless. Clicking group gives me group stats, and true username stats.
@Neil-B, that's correct - I see many different groups where the username apparently matches my username (and all "active clients 7 and 50 days 0"). Still having a hard time understanding the value of that information. Probably dates back from a limited number of F@H contributors.

Re: rank on a username basis, not passkey?
What can you see in Web Control (https://client.foldingathome.org/)? Reason is that I know Web Control will show the stats for username with passkey if you have configured your client with a passkey.

PantherX, yes, web control shows the accurate number of credits.
Thanks
