Hi! Happy to be part of the project, just started a week ago.
Not overly knowlegdeable about things, but not entirely green.
My current setup is:
i7-8700K
AMD R9 FURY-X
I just got a new RTX 2800 Super delivered and have not installed it yet.
Gonna install the new GPU coming week.
Was wondering if I would have any issues combining the AMD and NVIDIA card in the same system, or if it would be better for folding to just use the RTX 2800 ?
I have have a case that supports two PSU's , so power would be no issue, just wondering if it would mess up anything with the folding (dual drivers etc..).
Considering I also use this setup for others things I might be better off just using the new "powerful" card?
RTX 2080 Super and R9 Fury x in same PC?

The current client is better at getting things right for a system that has GPUs from both AMD and nVidia, but not always. So you should be okay.
To get the best results, finish any current WUs and then uninstall the F@h client along with the data. You may want to make a copy of the config.xml file first to use for copying and pasting such setup info as username, team and passkey.
Install the new card, and update drivers for both. Then reinstall the F@h software. The installer does a better job of identifying new hardware such as a GPU.

Welcome to the F@H Forum HenrikJolsen,
Please note that the Nvidia GPU would require 1 CPU whenever it is folding. However, AMD GPU will not require 1 CPU to be dedicated while it folds. Nvidia's drivers use spin-wait (polling) hence it always be using 1 CPU while AMD drivers use interrupts hence the lack of a dedicated CPU. If you plan to fold on your CPU, I would suggest that you use 8 CPUs which means that you have 1 CPU for the Nvidia GPU and 3 CPUs for other tasks on your system.

thx for the extra helpful info PantherX!
Definitely gonna use the CPU for folding as well...

there have been historic problems with getting two gpus from the two camps to play nice together. I wish you luck.
