Can't connect to web control although FAHClient is running
Hi,
after the installation, the web control page didn't show up automatically and when I start it manually, it can't establish a connection to my client. The client is running though (Task-Manager shows "FAHClient.exe (32 Bit)"). With FAHControl there is no connection possible either. It just shows: "Client: local Connecting inactive"
I used this installer: fah-installer_7.5.1_x86.exe
My system: Win10 64bit
Any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks
Jonas

Any firewall or anti-malware software running that would block communication between FAHControl or Web Control and the FAHClient process? They communicate over the local connection 127.0.0.1 on port 36330.

Uninstall 32 bit version then download and install 64 bit version.

The 64-bits download for Windows installs a 32-bit FAHClient as it doesn't need the address space or other added resources, other parts will be 64-bit

Re: Can't connect to web control although FAHClient is runni
I'm having the exact same issue as the OP.
No automatic webpage after install completes.
Webclient will not connect to the client.
Confirmed the client is infact running in task manager.
Made sure that the client was allowed Private and Public access through my firewall.
Made sure that my AV was not running while this was running.
OS is Windows 10, latest update. Hardware Intel i5-8350 / NVidia 1060
Also, cannot find the "64-bit" version that TomJohnson linked to, it's just not there, nor anywhere on the site from what I can see.

Yes, I also can't find a 64bit Version. I also completely shut down my Antivirus and Firewall (even before installing the software), it still doesn't work.. Any other suggestions maybe?

Re: Can't connect to web control although FAHClient is runni
I just figured it out, so jojojojonas, you should try this: If you have a device other than a gpu used for a display adapter, say, you use a USB 3.0 to HDMI device (like I do), disconnect it and then restart FAHClient and FAHControl. It'll fire up straight away. Feel free to plug your Display adapter back in once you have it working away
I was tearing my hair out trying to figure it out, then I remember that Maya REALLY hates starting up when I have it plugged in, and thought I'd give it a try, and it started up straight away!

Same issue, been tearing my hair out.. FAHClient just stopped connecting, but I can see from task manager that the jobs are running.
Re: Can't connect to web control although FAHClient is runni
Not OP but with identical issue - managed to get it working for now!
I don't have any display adapters as the guy above me suggests, however I did 2 things:
1. Allowed fahclient and fahcontrol through for firewall (Allow an app through firewall, under Firewall & network protection settings), for some reason I had duplicate entries for both, but when I restarted windows, it prompted me to allow fahclient again for private network, I accepted of course.
2. Before restart, disabled my 2nd monitor (see the suggestion from guy above).
Not sure which of the two helped, but lets see if the problem comes back

Hey all together, thanks for your suggestions! Happy that you could make it work! It didn't work for me though I unplugged everything from my computer but still the same problem..
Re: Can't connect to web control although FAHClient is runni
It still disconnects sometimes.. I think my split tunnel expressVPN may have something to do with it too.

Trying running chrome in incognito when you visit https://client.foldingathome.org/

Re: Can't connect to web control although FAHClient is runni
I'm using Firefox, tried incognito-mode as well, didn't work.. Tried it even with microsoft edge, also didn't work. But I also can't establish a connection with FAHControl, so I think the problem lies somewhere else.
On my other Laptop (a weaker one) I could install it without any problems (also Win10 64bit, same Antivirus etc.) but no dedicated GPU. Might there be a problem with my Nvidia GTX 960M?

Re: Can't connect to web control although FAHClient is runni
SOLVED: It was a driver issue I guess, I installed a different intel driver (not the driver provided by the manufacturer) and now it works!
