Trying to put machines that aren't working on anything else towards this epidemic.... I have two machines that I attempted to setup FAHControl on, one is click away fine, the other seems to doing nothing...
Both are older MacBook Pros, and are the same exact models. Below is a copy of the error log on the machine that isn't work:

This is a common error at the moment. There has been an overwhelming number of new users coming into Folding@home and the demand for workunits currently exceeds the supply. The research teams are rapidly setting up new servers and putting more projects in the queue (including for the Wuhan Coronavirus) so hopefully the servers can keep up in the next day or two. In the meantime, keep everything running and it will pick up workunits when they are available. The servers are currently serving them out at 85,000/hour

Ahhhh - got it. Well I guess that's a good problem to have. Give us more to do!
Just a heads up - the live event/entertainment industry is getting hold of this. There's a lot of production companies that own high-end computers for video processing and playback that are sitting collecting dust...we're ready for the work when you have it!

Oh boy. Do you have more information on this? Links or more details? I think the mods/admins/teams might want to know more about this. Spreading the word is fantastic and I truly hope all the servers can keep up with this flood!

Hi! Thanks so much for your offer to support – generally if you're interested in helping out with servers/hardware shoot me an email at [email protected] and we can discuss our needs!
I had similar warnings and seemingly no activity, but restarting the service seemed to unblock things (I'm running it on ubuntu 16 via docker). In case that helps anyone...

Who would be the right person to try and help with either "We are working like mad to start simulations of COVID-19 proteins" (from your download page), or data processing if that's something you need help with (i'm an expert in the latter, but wouldn't mind trying to help with the former in whatever form it takes)?

It shouldn't really make a substantial difference, because the problem is the number of workunits in the queue. We are currently serving them at 85,000/hour. A month or two ago it was 10,000/hour.
The software will periodically poll the server looking for work, but it backs off the frequency of the polling to reduce load on the server. Restarting the service works, but you can also hit the Pause button in the client, wait 30 to 60 seconds, then hit Resume and it will reset the timer. But this will cause more pings, thus increasing the load. It's better to just let it poll occasionally and it will pick up the work when its available.

Also, FYI I personally came (back) to folding@home after reading that a huge Ethereum mining pool was switching to folding (see this coindesk article: https://www.coindesk.com/thousands-of-t ... s-research )
The message No WUs available for this configuration[/b[] is a bit of a catchall message. It can mean there's something wrong with your configuration. It can mean the the servers have run out of the type of WUs you need. .... But most of all, it can mean the there are so many clients trying to get work that the server have reached their bandwidth capacity and if they try to service any more requests, things will queue up and nothing will get done.
Given the unprecedented growth in new clients competing for a limiged (but growing) set of server resoruces, I'd say the latter is the most likely. We are the victim of a (friendly) DoS attack.
i came on here looking for this exact problem...i was wondering why i wasn't getting any WUs, this makes perfect sense and i hope you have the servers up soon...
Hello
I'm new here
I have the same problem.

Is that normal ??
Thx
And congratulations to all the suscribers to help science !
