FAHControl will not start!

Post by gorgo2005 »

When I double click FAHControl.exe, I get the following:

message box entitled "cx_Freeze Fatal Error" with the caption "cannot get zipimporter instance".

Needless to say, the program refuses to start up for me.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Looks like something wrong with your OS. Do you use Windows 10 ?

Try to boot safe mode. Also try "sfc /scannow" in command prompt.

Windows 10 Home feature set 1809 and all patches up to date. Safe mode and the system file checker were both unsuccessful. Still getting the zipimporter instance message.

I've been reading other posts and I may have to uninstall and re-install the package that includes the FAHClient and the FAHControl apps.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I believe I have solved the problem without having to uninstall/re-install. My problem happened when I attempted to invoke the desktop shortcut I created for the FAHControl.exe app. I tried double-clicking the app in its original folder, not the desktop, and it started up perfectly, now running fine!

The custom shorcut delivered with the installation is critical to its functionality but we didn't think to ask you if you created your own shortcut.
