Stats down? [No]

Well it wouldn't be a US holiday without a customary outage would it?

The stat server must think it has the day off for the holiday!

I can verify that the 7am EST update is the last update I got on my collection system. It looks like the time/date stamp is updating, but the results aren't being pushed into the file. Looks like we're not getting anything until they can get a tech back in after the weekend.

The fact that problems occur so often during holiday periods makes one wonder how often there are problems at other times that we do not notice as they are corrected before we do.

The APIs and manual lookups via the web are failing with 500s, so clearly the server has gone into a turkey-induced sleep. Maybe someone over in the chem labs had a tryptophan accident........

At least the assignment servers are still working so work will continue. Stats will be updated with all work units received during the down time. Who can blame them for taking advantage of Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.

You seem to hit the nail on the head there. :D
Or should I be :( for the people who need to manage this software all year long? :?

But you have to admit, it is reliable this way around ... Xmas/new year outage coming soon ...

But hey, it’s still folding so it’s only phasing.

I beg to differ, it is reliable....we can be sure that it will happen every holiday.

Mod note: moved to current topic on stats outage, answers in previous posts - j

Any new info? The stats seem to be either out of date or the pages to view them just plain don't work entirely. Are the points still being credited properly? Will they show up once this is fixed? Is the actual work even still being delivered?

David, in the US it is still a major holiday weekend, I do not expect any stats until Monday afternoon, Pacific time.
The stats server has been unreliable the last several years, but no one has donated money for that specific purpose. Almost any time it is unsupervised, it fails.
If the past is any guide, about 75% of the points will occur in the first one or two cycles once it works again. then later, after it catches up, they will run a catch up run that finds the other 25%.
The stats server is not needed for the science, only for bragging rights.
