Unfortunately there have been some problems with the assignment software recently and you have been assigned a project that isn't going to work on v7.
To remove the wrongly assigned work the preferred method is to use FAHControl to remove and re-add the slot.
Another, less desirable method because the WS isn't informed, is to delete the appropriate work folder:
You can Pause your client by opening Advanced Control (aka FAHControl) and click on the Pause button. Exit FAHControl and Quit FAHClient (click on the FAH icon in the tray and select Quit).
Click on Windows Start > All Programs > FAHClient > Data Directory > work and delete the folder named 01.
You may have to repeat these steps (folder name to delete may change but it will usually be 00 or 01 ... the numbers following WU in your log) if you get assigned another 2981 or 2982 but hopefully the AS problem will be fixed soon.
Hardware configuration: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz with 6 GB of RAM (not overclocked) ATI HD 4850 (unused for folding) Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with Portuguese language pack
I couldn't find the pause button so I quit the client before deleting the folder. Deleted the folder twice. Now it got a 8834 work unit. It's working now.

Since a few days, Fah won't fold any more. The logs says "Failed to access core package". I saw some topics on this issue, and of the solutions was to delete map "00" in the work directory.
I did this twice and it didn't work. What more can I do? I removed and reinstalled FAH earlier; that didn't help either.
Due to current assignment problems your cpu slot has been given a gpu project which it cannot do. I would pause the slot, delete the appropriate work/?? folder and leave it paused until the problems are fixed. There is a similar example where the folder deleted the assignment a couple of times before getting valid work but, as you've already experienced, there are no guarantees that will work:
viewtopic.php?p=268945#p268945
Personally, I would just Quit the client after the above and monitor the forums until you see some indication of a fix.

I deleted the Work folder but still no joy. I don't see anything online about a Core b0. Is this the same problem as before where I just need to wait until PG fixes the problem?
Hardware configuration: Intel i7-4770K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR3-2133 Corsair Vengence (black/red), EVGA GTX 760 @ 1200 MHz, on an Asus Maximus VI Hero MB (black/red), in a blacked out Antec P280 Tower, with a Xigmatek Night Hawk (black) HSF, Seasonic 760w Platinum (black case, sleeves, wires), 4 SilenX 120mm Case fans with silicon fan gaskets and silicon mounts (all black), a 512GB Samsung SSD (black), and a 2TB Black Western Digital HD (silver/black).
Same problem. But, I deleted the work in folder o (my work folder for my CPU ) and no joy, so i paused everything, reboot my Pc and I'm all set now. I needed the reboot for some reason for the client to request another work unit
OvenMaster wrote:I've seen the posts on this where it applies to GPU clients but not CPU clients.
As you can see this assignment problem was already reported both here and to PG. PG is aware of the assignment problems and is working on the solutions.
@7im
Please do not contact PG directly in the case of the current assignment problems as the staff here and at PG are already in constant communication regarding this unfortunate situation. I do realize you are trying to help and the fact that PG had already been notified could have been more obvious but we need continuity in our reports and that has been happening between us for the past day or two.
1. Rebooting did not help, Bob, so I'm still waiting. <shrugs>
2. bollix47, I did search and was unable to find a post regarding CPU folding that was relevant to my situation. I must have done it wrong.
3. This means I was not aware that PG had been notified nor aware of this specific problem.
Thank you all for your help, gentlemen.
Please see the latest blog entry. All the assignment problems we are currently experiencing on many levels are being caused by some new AS software and the problems are being looked into by PG.
