Re: Nvidia Pascal GPU cards???
Yeah, I think the point 7IM was making regards the cost benefit of REPLACING existing cards. Saving around 100 watts will save you around $100 per year when running continuously, at average electricity costs in the US. Hence, if you already have a 980TI, investing in a new 1070 will require nearly 4...

"And your comment is off topic because it does not address the OP." As you mentioned in your previous post: "Also note that Folding@home has corporate donation projects that come and go" The high of 46 PLOPS seen a year ago compared to the current production is very likely due to...

Really, all those brands have good, better and best models to choose from. The pin output of your card dictates the cable requirements. Your best bet is to consult a review site for some information on specific models and their cost benefit comparisons. http://www.jonnyguru.com/ Just my educated opi...

single precision explicit ... But past performance is no guarantee.. FAHBENCH has not been updated for some time. It does not predict how future cores will utilize an architecture. Is Core 18 and core 19 predominately single precision ? IDK. You could ask on reddit...but responses have been coming a...

YUP.I need the newest drivers for the 970 but they dont seem to work on the older gen 760 so much. no biggie
Try the 347.09 ...incremental increase in speed on the 970.
However, does not fix OPEN CL bug on core 18 Yet.

Re: Core 18 and Maxwell
What you describe has been debated since the problem was first recognized in March. The decision was made to release the WU from beta despite not having a resolution of the known problem. I could link you to a dozen threads, but your best bet(in theory) is to participate here: https://www.reddit.com...

Re: 210k ppd on a geforce 970
I would advise reading the thread on core 18 development before making any more investments. With the completion of the single available core 17 that is running on Maxwell, production (as measured by ppd) will fall to 1/4 the current level. Hopefully, the issues with drivers, open MM versions, and c...

Re: GPU Nvidia
70000ppp/$130 = 538 ppd/$
On a 970
248000/$350 = 708 ppd/$
So the 970 is a better value if you can get the card...and if WU continue to be available.

I think the OP is just asking out of curiosity.
I don't think PG has published many(any) papers on the IT infrastructure at Stanford as it does not touch on the issues of biology and numerical methods applied to molecular forces.

Re: OC GPU TEMPS
The GPU itself can take a fair amount of abuse. With Folding 24/7/365, the heat soaking of the card, especially the VRM becomes an issue. Setting very high fan speeds (100%) will subsequently result in card life degradation due to premature fan failure. So, everything is a balance. I like to see low...
