Is the folding@home project involved with animal testing in any way?

Thanks.
Not for now, but the cures that might be developed using our results will probably be tested on animals?

Re: Rehab programs for folding@home addicts?

Which reminds me, all in all, how's the speed/power of the F@H coming along? Are we keeping up with the need to process more and more complex/difficult folding problems? Or, are the problems we're pursuing out running our ability to come to solution? I'm saving up for a newer, state of the art PC, ...

Re: what language is F@H written in?

ok umm.... i dont understand anything you just said, my question was more of sharing with other similar non-profit projects. why is the code so proprietary if the results are shared? we could at least share with other similar projects, even make it a strictly 2 way exchange, get our code optimized ...

Re: Rehab programs for folding@home addicts?

toTOW: People earn money even from selling gameitems like gold etc for real money. Even a project like this, as long as there is any kind of competition(as we have), will unfortunatly be victim for this kind of "criminal" behaviour. It has become one of the greatest problems of modern MMO...

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)

This looks like it might be the right place for this: Could you please add the ability to reset the benchmark data on a per project basis? I've made some rather significant gains in PPD production by overclocking my GPU. I'd like to reset the benchmarks on the projects that were completed at 3500PP...

Re: Heat powers chips

Slightly different devices - the Sterling Engine acts like an old fashioned steam-powered train, and is intended to produce motion. The OP's links generate electricity, which can be used for a wider variety of purposes. MSI's HeatPipe + Sterling-powered fan intrigues me; I wonder how effective and ...

Re: Highwater Mark

By the way, today FAH has reached the highest total TFLOPs ever: 2766, and it looks like that in the next few days, thanks to GPUs, it could rise to much higher values. Re: Chips too fast for programmers?

What they probably have done is fallen in to the GHz speed trap. Intel pushed the "GHz is king" in performance for so long that most average users think a 2.8 GHz P4 will do things faster than a 2.1 GHz Allendale. (Okay, there are a few select things the P4 will still do faster, but for t...

Re: Chips too fast for programmers?

Lemme copypaste a mail i just sent him: Hey Michael First of all thanks for a good article, it's a serious look at a problem that's all too real for a lot of developers to face. However i have to say that you are incorrect in the assumption that anything will go slower at all. People who are claimin...

Re: Physical trophies for milestones

Yes i would definitely get one of those when i progress up the ranks - seeing as the interest for the PS3 trophies are so big, i'm sure it would be a nice idea that a lot of people would utilize.
