Yes, don't run withour page file, regardless if you have infinite RAM. Windows dows not like it, and nearly every app assumes there is page file in your system
ok, mystery solved
Mystery indeed solved (at least for me).... Last WU went by without a hitch!
Sorry for the run-around!
I will have to check this further on my systems as I was running an older release of the v8 beta client. I also saw a memory leak on macOS, that was running v8.3.14 Intel and fah-client had grown to 3.3 GB over a few weeks. As that system has 48 GB of RAM it barely noticed the memory usage. On Wind...
FAHClient.exe memory usage is not related to this project. But the reason it crashed might be because you ran out of memory allocation My machine has 16GB of memory, and this WU is the only one where this happens, so there must be some link surely? I see it's the biggest CPU project there is in ter...
This project needs to be urgently looked at. Failed on me again, only for my machine to be given another straight after. Note that FAHClient.exe uses a LOT of memory when running this project. 07:09:49:I1:WU23:Project: 18806 (Run 45, Clone 34, Gen 265) 07:09:49:I1:WU23:Reading tar file core.xml 07:0...
If you could report your full system details in this issue tracker, that would be great: https://github.com/FoldingAtHome/fah-client-bastet/issues/291 Alternatively, you can list your system details here, in this thread (please include OS + build, CPU, GPU, motherboard and RAM used) Thanks Thanks, ...
Thought i'd "re-open" this thread, as I had this WU fail on me today. Unfortunately I haven't been able to copy the logs, but I do know that at around 90% I noticed it had stopped (was monitoring on my phone), and upon checking the logs, "bad unit" was mentioned. Interestingly, b...
Mystery solved I think! I disabled the Intrusion Detection system of part of my home firewall network, and once I refreshed the phone, it immediately synced! Now just a case of me figuring out what the false positive was that was causing the block.
Things are getting even weirder. Just tried to start a new WU manually to see if I could start it from the phone. It would start on the phone but not sync on the machine itself (Disconnected). Then noticed I had multiple icons in the System Tray. One said Failed, the other was asleep?, the other run...
After a two year hiatus, I have returned to folding, and got the latest version installed on my Windows setup. All good on that machine, folding fine. However, I have noticed that my account when logged into on my iphone no longer shows its current status. Yesterday during the first WU I could follo...
I've done folding before on a Linux Mint machine, but have had to revert back to Windows, and don't want to leave the machine on 24/7 like I used to, so haven't folded in a while. I'm now considering running it permanently on a Raspberry Pi 5 seeing that there's now an official client for ARM machin...
Given the level of mutations that appear in the new Covid Omicron varient, and therefore the amount of "unknown answers", i'm interested to know if the scientific community believe it could be helpful for it to have its own folding projects? Does the folding@home project help in answering ...
The article got published on Saturday 6/11! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/ ... deadliest/ (unfortunately behind a paywall, but I was lucky enough to buy the actual newspaper!). I myself contributed to the article, i'm in the collage of photos, and who's name is Chris. This is a great thing ...
Now currently running 16990. TPF is over 15mins. Looking in the logs, I notice the steps written as 17:10:15:WU01:FS00:0xa8:Steps: first=40000000 total=50000000 17:10:16:WU01:FS00:0xa8:Completed 1 out of 10000000 steps (0%) What does the first line represent if the total amount steps to be completed...
Got the picture now, thanks everyone. Just found where "steps" is mentioned in the logs. Which makes me wonder, if displaying steps in the control panel would be another useful bit of information to have. In-consequential I know.
