Forum abduction
Just recently when I tried to connect to Folding Forum, I got redirected to a flower site. It's (obviously) fixed now, but is there some way to alert someone about this? Or should I just presume that as frequently as the moderators and admins check-in someone will notice soon enough?

Re: Forum abduction
Not quite sure how that happened, but if you email admin{@}foldingforum.org or admin{@}fahinfo.org if there's a serious problem, that'll get through to me.anko1 wrote:Just recently when I tried to connect to Folding Forum, I got redirected to a flower site. Re: Forum abduction
Strange, I have been on most of the day, and have not seen that.
Could have been something machine specific. If it happens frequently, you may want to check your system with HJT, and see if here are any redirect entries listed on your system.

Re: Forum abduction
Maybe. All I know is that when I clicked on my bookmark and the link from one of my notification emails and the link on the FAH home page, I got to the same place. All seems fine now.
ed: I composed this before toTOW's response. I'm guessing that means that the problem was with Firefox?

Re: Forum abduction
No it was with your ISP ... DNS is converting names (like foldingforum.org) into IP address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) and the DNS server is located at your ISP ... it might have made a mistake and then directed you to the wrong server (it happens sometimes) ...anko1 wrote:Maybe. Re: Forum abduction
Right, Firefox is a browser, correct? So the problem's with Yahoo/ATT?

Re: Forum abduction
If it doesn't happen again, you don't need to worry about it ... but if it happens again, or if someone else sees a similiar issue, we'll be able to better locate the issue.anko1 wrote:Right, Firefox is a browser, correct? So the problem's with Yahoo/ATT?

Thanks!
Re: Forum abduction
Probably, but you might want to scan for mal-ware. You might have picked up some kind of infection that is doing strange things to your machine.anko1 wrote:So the problem's with Yahoo/ATT?
I've seen no redirection errors from here, but I don't use AT&T's DNS.
