strange processor count

Hi,

I noticed that my stat page shows the below stats.
Active processors (within 50 days) 3
Active processors (within 7 days) 3

Problem is I'm only running 2 clients 1 gpu and 1 uni-processor. The gpu is on my main machine and the uni-processor is on an old box I put together just to run FAH. So the question is where did the other processor come from? I seen this happen a few weeks back, but it fixed itself so I did not think any more about it.

The log part below is from my gpu client

Code: Select all

[21:10:23] - Ask before connecting: No
[21:10:23] - User name: aracthebold (Team 52975)
[21:10:23] - User ID: 34C6
[21:10:23] - Machine ID: 3

and this is from the uni client

Code: Select all

[06:20:08] - Ask before connecting: No
[06:20:08] - User name: aracthebold (Team 52975)
[06:20:08] - User ID: 6F3F
[06:20:08] - Machine ID: 1
Not a big problem just wondering.

Thanks in advance.

Changing clients can be one cause of extra processors. Also, changing Machine ID can add to your processor count.
See: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7412

Edit: Just as an example, these are my processor counts:
Active processors
(within 50 days) 23
Active processors
(within 7 days) 8
And I only have 6 clients running (4 uni + 1 SMP + 1 GPU)

HI,

the last time I restarted either client was 02/13/09 and I have not changed clients or machine id's. As I said no biggy just curious.

The processor counter in the stats page can get confused quite easily  It's not always accurate.

Code: Select all

Recent CPUs for 'aracthebold'
(these CPUs have returned work in the last 90 days)

CPUid	IP Address	team	cpu type	cpu species	os type	os species	Last credit	Last returned WU	Proj	Run	Clone	Gen
6F3F170B54XXXXXX21 XX.XX.XX.30 52975 x86 Athlon Windows XP 225 2009-02-22 21:37:45 4458 605 3 5
34C619F547XXXXXX02 XX.XX.XX.30 52975 S390 Pentium 4 Windows XP 384 2009-02-28 00:36:20 5758 10 43 168

CPUId = UserID+MachineID
The S390 client is the nVidia one. The other two are CPU clients. Results are coming from the same IP.

Thanks toTow, I guess something happened on the old box to change one of the id's. As shown in the snip above the machine id for that machine is the 6f3f one. I just checked the fahlog-prev and it has the same machine id 6f3f.

Thanks all for the help as I said no big dealjust wanted to make sure nothing funny was going on. THis thread can now be closed.

thanks
