Trying to fold and the status gets to Downloading core and has been stuck there for half an hour.
I've tried to restart the process by dumping the work unit twice but that hasn't helped.

How do I fix this?

I have the same problem.

UPDATE:

Now, when opening the client. It says my pc is disconnected and the fold and pause buttons aren't doing anything.

What OS and version?
What fah version?

I have v8.3.18 running on windows 11 pro version 23H2. My pc has a 64-bit operating system.

Please try upgrading to beta v8.4.9
It has some bug fixes that may help.

This does show my pc twice. One with v8.4.9, the other is disconnected and says 'no resources'.
Do I need to worry about this?

One is probably your old computer. If not using it, you can remove the machine from your account by clicking its gear icon and clicking unlink.

tried v8.4.9 and beta version, both say No resources, unlinked no work.

evga 3080ti no detected in client setting, but ok in window management, working well in window 11 and games.
i9 7920x appear in client, but no folding.

how to upload the photos?

You need to store it in the 3rd party website and post a link. I don't think forum supports photo storing, unfortunately

You need to get physical access to ADL3U1J. Go to web UI settings and you should see this broken chain icon on right hand side next to your computer name. Click on it, and it should link it to your account.
Then if resources still don't show up, take few screenshots again.

im already on that PC, clicking on the chain but nothing happened.

as you can see, it shows CPUs 24, but no GPU at all.
even i drag CPU to 24 of 24, then save, then click on Fold, then nothing works

and no GPU detected, while im using evga 3080ti, working well in win11 and games
