<SOLVED> Sudden appetite for RAM?

Greetings! Long time folder, now running v8.4.3 on Manjaro Linux

Just in the past month or so, I have had Chromium browser suddenly abend as the system RAM was totally consumed.
I do not recall this behaviour over the past years, just in the past few months. I have 16GiB installed, 15.5 usable.
When the browser closes, I can restart the systemd FAH-CLIENT which will drop the FAH alone RAM usage down to about 10-12G, which then allows normal operations for a few hours.
As the restarted FAH cores continue, the RAM usage increases slowly as the cores near completion.

Is there any kind of system message I could monitor to see what might be happening?

Thanks in advance

Please update to beta 8.4.9.
It should have some memory leaks fixed.

If that’s from AUR, you’ll need to lean on the maintainers for an update.

Or you can build the client from source and replace just fah-client.

Thank you very much for the advice, calxalot!

I have tip-toed around the edge of trying my hand at building from source for too long.
Your push is exactly what I need. Off I go to delve into the guts of Arch-like wizardry :D

Well!

Downloaded the lastest Beta Bastet code and followed the ReadMe part about building the client.

A little sudo in /usr/bin to copy and rename files, and just like that, v8.4.10 folding with about a 50% reduction in RAM use to 6.48G

Now in my toolkit to try updated betas as released.

Thanks again
