Intel Arc Battlemage B580 for folding?
Anyone know if these will support double precision so they can be used with F@H?

All I have heard was a maybe a year or so ago that the next generation Arc would have hardware FP64. But the information released so far on the Battlemage cards does not include any FP64 performance figures. Intel also seems to be going for 16-bit processing for certain aspects of the video processing. So until they actually ship, my guess is no.

I did find this on the web, so maybe that's promising:
The cards are supposed to be out December 13th. Assuming the hardware did support FAH, about how long do you think it would take to see a client update that supports it?

It shouldn't take any client update, just an updated entry in the GPUs.txt and gpus.json files. As far as I know they have been creating OpenCL for Intel GPUs folding cores right along as they supported the older Intel iGPUs referred to as being Gen 9 and 11 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_I ... units#Gen9. Intel removed the hardware FP64 support with Gen 12, aka Intel Xe. There hasn't always been small enough project WUs to utilize those iGPUs the last couple years though.

Are the GPUs.txt and gpus.json file updates something I can do myself, or are we waiting on the dev team? <- Imagine this written with strike-thru
N/m, just read in another thread and put in request for whitelist. Thanks!

You have one?CaptainHalon wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 10:15 am Are the GPUs.txt and gpus.json file updates something I can do myself, or are we waiting on the dev team?
If you do, post GPU Z screenshot, that I can add PCI ID into GPUs.txt.
If you don't, wait for next few days, I have one coming for myself

Should have one later this morning if my Microcenter reservation goes through. Will try to post in a few hours if all goes well.muziqaz wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 10:24 amYou have one?CaptainHalon wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 10:15 am Are the GPUs.txt and gpus.json file updates something I can do myself, or are we waiting on the dev team?

OK, it has been whitelisted. However, there is no projects yet which would be enabled for that GPU yet. Let me ask around to enable few.
Meanwhile, restart FAHClient and please post system info section of v8 client (if you are running it) to see how the client sees it

I'm still on v7. Tried v8 briefly, but had some reliability isuses, so went back to v7. Will that be a problem?

Re: Intel Arc Battlemage B580 for folding?
Yeah, but how is the client going to know there are updated files? As of now, it doesn't think I have any GPU's in my system.
System Info just says "GPUs 0, Not detected: Failed to open dynamic library 'nvcuda.dll': The specified module could not be found."
Sounds like it's looking for something for Nvidia for some reason. In any case, my client doesn't seem to know that anything was updated.

You probably need to install Intel OpenCL drivers too

Re: Intel Arc Battlemage B580 for folding?
Welp, we may just have to wait until you get yours before this gets figured out. I forgot that I can get away with driver only for Nvidia, but I have to install the full software bloatware on AMD to get it to fold. So I tried the same for Intel, however I still see GPU's 0 and nothing detected. Moreover, after I installed the full Intel package, it keeps telling me there's a driver update, I tell it to install it, it reboots, but it's on the same driver, and tells me again there's a driver update. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
