Passed for the researchers info. I was checking a bad work unit and found the above.
Bad work unit, massive reassignments, ongoing

Okay, I have passed that info on to the researcher running that project.

Joe,
I suspect they are going to tell us not to worry about it. I was getting ready to head out the door when I looked at it and posted. Just as I was getting ready to power down the monitor I noticed that there were gaps and the assignments stop after a few failed attempts.
I suspect it is something that they are aware of and are trying to get to run properly.
I think the egg will all be on my face for this one!

There are some small gaps, but in total there are over 100 failed attempts on this WU. Most of the time it has been assigned every day, and multiple times. The project is out of Beta and should not b behaving this way.

After a second look I see what you are saying. I looked at the top of the failures and saw the time gaps every 5 failures, and missed that it's still been going out daily for a few months now.
Well not maybe instead of egg on my face I feel like I might have lucked into something useful to pass along....

Re: Bad work unit, massive reassignments, ongoing
My guess is that there is a setting misconfigured on the server for this project, hopefully not in general. It is being looked into, at least the WU has not been assigned and returned today so far. It does look like most days it got assigned 5 times, but there are days with more such as the 12th of this month where it was assigned 9 times in two batches with the first batch starting just before midnight.

Yep, the more I dug into those other failures the more I thought something is wrong. Humans and our mistakes, just glad I checked it out after it failed for me. Thanks for passing on the word Joe.
