FAHClient running on an Ubuntu Server - latest version Port 7396
FAHControl running on an iMac latest version

FAHControl seemed to locate FAHClient but stuck in this update status

does 7396 need to be forwarded in router?

You need to patch the launchd plist:

OP needed to set a password on the ubuntu client and use port 36330.
