I'm returning WUs in a fraction of the time given by the timeout, yet https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu shows I'm not receiving bonuses.

I have a passkey. Could the passkey be wrong?

You can go back to the passkey site, re-enter the same user id & email that you used to create the passkey & it will send it to you again.

IIRC, you can use the same passkey with different user ids - when I switched to folding for Curecoin for a couple years I don't recall getting a new passkey, I'm pretty sure I just kept using the one I already had. I don't have any record of a second one.

In the Curecoin discord they say a passkey is tied to a username.

Anyway that wasn't the problem, the passkey I requested was the one I was already using. I think it's the 80% success rate thing you mentioned over in the beta forum. I had been dumping workunits due to changing cards around, and due to a bug which is being sorted over in Github.

Curecoin discord is only partially correct. The username and email address used to obtain a passkey are associated, and using the same username and email will get you the same passkey. But once obtained a passkey can be used with any username. Completion tracking is done by username and passkey pairs.

At one time a stats search could be done by using just a passkey. That would report the totals for WUs and points associated with that passkey across all usernames. That search was discontinued about half a dozen years ago. While requested that this search be restored, it still hasn't been as a search across all usernames is problematic if done too frequently.

Same page as the Recent CPUs check also has a check for bonus status - https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus. Your current username is definitely below 80% on both passkeys used with it.

The latest Beta for v8 has a fix for systems with more GPUs than available CPU threads. Whether that fixes all of the bug related to that I don't know. V8.1.16 was released Thursday and the sticky here updated Friday - viewtopic.php?t=39195.

Does that mean I can reset my bad record by changing my email address and getting another passkey? Or would that harm other things? I can't remember where that email address get used in the Folding system.

How do you find all these pages to access stuff? There seems to be no links to it on the main page.
For example, what path do I follow to get from https://foldingathome.org to https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus ?

Shouldn't Folding autoupdate? Or will that get put into the final edit?
At the moment I don't get notified in any way when there's a new version. I thought of subscribing to the new version thread, but a new one gets started for every version.

Yes you can reset your completion record by using a new passkey. It will take returning 10 WUs before the new username/passkey would be qualified for the bonus. One of the two passkeys only requires returning 4 WUs before it will return to 80%, identify which one is that would be quicker and use that on all systems.

Other than to obtain a passkey or register a team, I can not think of any other place that an email address gets used by F@h. Some people have created usernames that are email addresses, for privacy reasons any portion of an username to the right of a "@" character is suppressed in reports from the stats database.

The apps at https://apps.foldingathome.org have been advertised here and some other places I don't follow. There may have been an explicit link on the F@h website but there have been edits since then. There definitely are links to specific apps on the page such as the Project Summary and Team Editor and removing part of the URL would also show the other publicly available apps.

Up until now the client has not ever done autoupdating. One of the older clients would post a notice that an update was available, but that was not included in v7. With v8 the Web Control interface does get updated when it connects to the F@h site, but the client itself doesn't. I don't know of any plans to add autoupdating, there have been more requests to not add that or if added to leave it optional.

The sticky post tracking the new versions is not new every time. I or another moderator just update that post with the new version info.

Almost every piece of software autoupdates nowadays. It's insanity to have people using outdated buggy versions. At least have it put up a marker on web control there's an update available.

Bonus status app is working for me. The other passkey you have used has 20 out of 26 WUs returned, that would take completing and returning 4 WUs to be back to 80%.

I will have to dig through the forum settings to see if updates will email a notice as well as replies. Still fixing settings that did not properly come over from the older version forum software last year when it was moved from its previous hosting site and updated.

That's weird it's not working here now, but was the first time you told me of it, and is still working for you. How can it break for only one of us? I even tried another browser.

I'll stick the other passkey in then.

I don't think edits would come through, otherwise I'd have received loads of them every time someone in a conversation like this changes something.

If the user name is unique, often the "bonus status" works without a passkey as well. Mine has as long as I remember, and with any of the names the coin based designations it probably will.

People hide their passkey to prevent bad actors from messing with their qualification for bonuses, which I believe has occurred.
