Nvidia to limit the hashrate of RTX 3000 series GPUs. FAH?

Nvidia will limit the GPU's ability to mine cryptocurrencies, to discourage miners from buying the GPU.
This probably to satisfy the need of gamers, and other people.
It's apparently only in newer GPUs, though Nvidia started implementing it in RTX3060 GPUs upon release. Now the 3060Ti, 3070, 3070Ti, and potentially the Super variants, all suffer from this limitation.
My question is, if it will also affect folding?
Older models (released before today I guess) will still fold like normal.
I think it's something to keep an eye out for.
Also, there's a possibility that these GPUs will have a different GPU ID.

So far as I know, my RTX3060 folds at full speed.
There is no reason to suspect that the other, newer cards will behave more poorly.

While I'm not a software/hardware engineer, I'm not sure these limits will hamper FAH or BOINC projects. As Etherum & other cryptocurency mining software is the target of the new hardware based limits..... Only time will tell though.

The well known list:
https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/overall_ranks
There is a "3080 Lite Hash Rate" currently at rank 3. It has the same PPD like the 3080. The "3060TI Lite Hash Rate" is even faster than the 3060TI.

Why would that be the case?
Apparently the LHR (Light Hash Rate) GPUs, limit performance for cryptocurrency, the limited to 100MH/S. The 3060 by default only does 40-50MH/s, up from 26MH/s on the LHR.
The 3060 is driver limited. Driver 470.05 apparently has the limiter fully unlocked on the 3060. Not sure if it would work on the LHR GPUs of higher categories.

There is a possibility they will release the LHR GPUs at a lower price, and might actually sell them side by side with the regular GPUs.
Other articles stipulate that Nvidia will probably only release the LHR cards, and leave the 3080/Ti and 3090 GPUs for miners.

Random chance in who is running the card, and which WUs they get? If the LHR case is running in a better cooled case and gets projects that could skew the results. A couple of months ago, the 3060 Ti and 3060 Ti LHR had a very similar hash rate according to the graph.

Don't worry, the LHR are not slower on FAH than other models ... LHR only targets mining algorithm (and more specifically, Ethereum one).

Seems like they already found a way to circumvent the limitation for mining.
And a very simple solution at that. No need to hack the drivers.
All they do is mine 2 or 3 tokens/currencies at a time.
Sure, hashing is still limited per token/currency, but you can easily mine Ethereum bitcoin, and litecoin together.
