F@h Keeping Screens On

Post by WindspearRMP5S »

It seems that F@h won't let my monitors go to sleep. I like to let F@h run nonstop but don't really want my monitors to be on all the time. No matter what I set the "when plugged in, turn off after..." setting to in the Windows power settings screen, they never turn off.

I also tried changing F@h to "only when idle" and it never starts folding.

So, I ran "powercfg" and it says:

Code: Select all

DISPLAY:
None.

SYSTEM:
[PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient\FAHClient.exe

AWAYMODE:
[PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient\FAHClient.exe

EXECUTION:
None.

PERFBOOST:
None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN:
None.
Is there a way to run F@h without keeping my monitors on all the time? (Or remembering to physically turn them off when I walk away...)

OS: Windows 10 Pro, version 10.0.18363 N/A Build 18363
F@h version: 7.6.21

Do they have switches or buttons?

Strange ... I use precisely the settings you say dont work for you at it works fine for me ... so not necessarily a FaH issue ... something odd with windows settings/setup or possibly monitor drivers?

I, too, have my Windows power setting set to always on but my monitor sleeps after N minutes. They're independent settings.

Maybe? I don't know. I've looked at everything I can think of and no luck. I just turn them off manually when I leave now, which works, but not knowing why it's not working right annoys me. lol

Good afternoon:

So, I figured out what was actually keeping the screens from turning off.

I have a Saitek Rhino x-55 HOTAS I use for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Apparently they give input constantly when they're plugged in. I ran powercfg -devicequery wake_armed and saw them in there which got me thinking, "hmm...maybe they're doing it."

Unplugged them, waited a minute and yup. Back to normal.

Thanks, everyone!
