Welcome to the F@H Forum alphacole1105,

Generally speaking, that happens when you already have an existing installation of the client. If that's the case, can you please post the log file? Ensure you include the first 100 lines which will inform us of what the system configuration is and what the client settings are. If you require guidance, please view this topic: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=26036

Humm... the fact that it says not configured means that it is waiting to be configured. Previously, it would wait for 5 minutes before automatically folding anonymously. Can you open up Advanced Control (AKA FAHControl)? What happens when you visit this site: https://client.foldingathome.org/ It should open up Web Control.

"Connecting to your Folding@home client

Need help?
Is Folding@home installed?
Is Folding@home running?
Try reloading this page.
Try connecting directly.
More help."
That's what is on the webpage.

That link would normally open the web console for you … Not a scenario I have come across before - my gut instinct is that there is something blocking your connection - maybe AV/Firewall/Proxy/Windows Defender? or even an issue with where the installation has been completed?

In Win 10 the FAH folders should be in the C:\Users\******\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient folder (where ****** is you logged on user name) … The current log should be there and past logs (upto last 16 by default) should be in a sub folder called … If you have had any connections to date that should show somewhere in the current or past logs - details of your system config might show in those along the lines of:

Code: Select all

Something like this will help if you find it … If you don't it may be that the Client has never connected which would support the AV/Firewall/Proxy/Windows Defender possibility.

Another thought … When setting up did you adjust remote access config at all? … iirc (dim past) you need to ensure 127.0.0.1 is allowed in both options.

FAH's main website was offline briefly last night. I'll bet it works correctly after that was fixed.

FAH can be installed on Acer computers. Unfortunately we can't guess what your problem is unless you post the first couple of pages of FAH's log.
