(Not a) 7.6.13 issue

Post by Juggy »

Recently, after updating my client I have noticed that the retry/download of new work is problematic.

When I check my machines in the mornings sometimes the Attempts and Next Attempt counter in Unknown and the machines have not returned work for 9-12 hours.

Only way to fix it is reboot the machines and then it connects immediately and downloads work. Pausing -> Folding does not work.

Am I the only one experiencing this? Should I got back to the previous client?

When I start WEB CONTROL, click on Stop Folding, then Finish up, then stop, this has no effect on any future WUs.

If I click on Stop now instead of Finish up, then stop, then it has the effect I expect - the current WU stops running, and more are not started later until I click on Start folding.

In case it matters, the browser I use is Mozilla Firefox, latest version. I'm running version 7.6.13 Folding@home under 64-bit Windows 10.

Currently folding using only a GPU slot, but I saw this problem before When using both a CPU slot and a GPU slot.

There is a bug in the current version of Web Control, the Finish option does not work. A problem report has been already put in for this.

Using the advanced control - FAHControl, the Finish option does work. You can either click on the Finish button dn all folding slots will be set to that status, or right-click on a folding slot and Finish can be set for just that slot.

There are some projects, mostly project 13414, which have a high variance in points, and they are being investigated.
It has nothing do with the client version, so no need to revert. :)
