super slow upload speed

Hi everyone, I'm from Shanghai, my English is poor but I will try my best to explain the problem clearly.

Recently I found that my fah pc upload speed is super slow, I calculated the upload bandwidth was just 0.5Mb/s (0.063~0.064MB/s). I am staying in Seoul and my internet is 1Gb. I have tried to send files to my Shanghai office staff, have send files to my friend who lives in New York, it seems the network speed can reach up to 10~20MB/s, so I guess there is limit at CS side.

Is there anyone who can explain about it ?

Very thanks !

Currently the servers are under very high network load, with their network connections often saturated. There may also be some routing issues from international connections.

On the other hand, both connections you showed stayed up and finished the WU upload, other posters have had problems taking multiple retries to upload to the servers shown.

Very thanks for reply.
However some our team members use VPS services which are located in Singarpore, their upload speed is up to around 4~5/MBs. Maybe really the CS servers' international routing limit the bandwidth, it seems nothing can help it.

And another possible is all the cs servers which are deployed on cloud limit the international bandwidth or international ISP provider because I remembered before when uploaded to independent CS server, there was no bandwidth limit.

Anyway I will wait to see is there any other member have same problem or not.

Welcome to the F@H Forum Keyco,

Please note that due to the pandemic situation, in some countries, the internet speed has actually dropped due to a significant increase of internet. Some of the impacted countries are listed here: https://www.speedtest.net/insights/blog ... ormance/#/ which may be a contributing factor in the slower upload speeds.

Hi Keyco, I am from Singapore, and on the contrary, I am facing up/down speed issues this past week.
I have to use a VPS exiting in US in order to get and return WUs successfully.

Hi ToeBlister, nice to meet you. Let me check with my teammate about which VPS provider they are using. Later I will reply you.

Very thanks for reply. There is an interesting thing: today our teammate helped me change OS from win7 ultimate to ubuntu 18.04, the upload speed suddenly increase to 2Mb/s, I think there is must a upload bandwidth strategy for different client softwares. From some countries and some OS client, those cloud CS upload bandwidth for a WU is 2Mb/s, some are limit at 0.5Mb/s. I feel it is quite funny.

When you're changing the OS from Windows to Linux, your range of WUs will change (some are specific to OS) which means you might be assigned to different servers, hence the difference in speed.

Please note that the code-base is mostly shared across the platform (Windows, Linux, macOS) so there's no different strategy being used for different OS. Do note that I am omitting any role that the OS itself will have on the network transmission.
