Hi,

I have some weird issue with FAH client on windows 7 and 10.
The icon next to the clock is not showing every time. I like to lunch the advanced view rather than the web view.

I don't understand what I should do to have this client running ?

Thanks for your help !

Welcome to the F@H Forum romgo,

My guess is that the F@H icon is automatically being hidden. If that's the case, please look at these guides so you can ensure that it is always visible in the taskbar:
Windows 7 -> https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/hel ... -windows-7
Windows 10 -> https://aavtech.site/2018/07/customizin ... indows-10/

If that is not the case, please post your F@H log here. Ensure you include the initial section of the log which contains system configuration.

Hi,

tanks for your fast answer.
I checkd and icon deosn't seems hidden.

I can run FAHcontrol.exe from cmd it works.
but If I got to "C:\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient\" and double click on FAHcontrol.exe nothing happen.
But running the application from cmd doesn't allow to leave it in background.

Sadly I don't see anything on the logs.

Any idea ?

Best regards

FAHcontrol is separate from the FAHclient. You need FAHclient running for FAHcontrol to show anything of interest. The missing tray icon suggests that you don't have FAHclient running.
In Windows 10 you can go to "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\FAHClient" and right click the Folding@Home shortcut, go to Properties. Then, remove the web-client option at the end of the target string. That way the web-client won't open every time you start FAHclient and you can then manually open the Advanced View from the tray icon. The Folding@Home shortcut is also the one you want to use to start everything up.
