Uninstall Mojave Help- FahCore_a7 process going crazy
The FahCore_a7 process is consuming 300% of CPU. Need to uninstall the app. The instructions on the webpage are incomplete. Only references a non-existant third party uninstaller at the bottom of the page. Please help.

That just means it is running on 3 CPU cores of the ones you have, that is the way Activity Monitor displays CPU usage. If your had 8 cores, all of them in use would show as 800%. You can reduce the number of cores in use by moving the slider to Light or use FAHControl to set the number to any number from 1 to the maximum number of CPU cores your Mac has. I can provide directions for that if you want.
If you still want to uninstall the app, look inside the Folding@home folder that was installed in Applications. There you will find the Uninstaller.
As for the web page, that is a very old version of the directions. The Uninstaller has been part of the installed software since version 7.4 of the client. I think it reverted to an older edit during the site move from Stanford to the current foldingathome.org website. It is on a long list of fixes to the site that are needed.

FYI - Activity Monitor app CPU usage shows my Mac Pro ID 5,1 with 24 cores using 2,200% of available 2,400% for FahCore_a7 processing.redrumute wrote:The FahCore_a7 process is consuming 300% of CPU. I use Macs Fan Control V1.4.12 to adjust my multiple fans RPM to maintain 150 degree F temp while running Folding Power at Full.

Re: Uninstall Mojave Help- FahCore_a7 process going crazy
@Joe_H thank you. I found the uninstall file in the folder as you said. Thanks so much. I have found that the fans start to run quite loud with the 3 cores running at 300%. I may try and reduce the number of cores in use. I will let you know if i have any further questions.
