No WUs available for this configuration

I'm trying to use the FAHControl but each attempt to get a assignment results in that message, No WUs available for this configuration. In some places on the forum I've seen that this means the servers are just full but when I installed it on a different computer, it immediately started using the CPU. Was that coincidence or am I doing something wrong?

This is what I think I know.
I understand that by Sunday we had four times as many volunteers as on Thursday, so the WUs prepared for the weekend were all gone by Saturday morning. Researchers were called at home and began frantically crafting new WUs. As of late Sunday each batch was assigned to volunteers in seconds. This is Monday, as 9 AM rolls around, Researchers who wisely never gave F@H their home phone number will get to work and discover that we have been busy. They will crank out new WUs. (remember time zones, Stanford is in Pacific) We will find out if they are at all prepared for a massive jump in the number of PCs needing work.
In a similar vein, the server hardware has been stressed all weekend assigning work, receiving work etc. (passkey shortages, GPUs.txt shortages and the list goes on) In my experience, newer, faster servers cost money,. There are remarkably few billionaire biochemists,. So government grants will need to be written, approved, and funded before the hardware catches up.
If any of this seems too real, I can offer platitudes instead.

Hi, on my hardware i can calculate up to 50-70wu per day (CPU+GPU) but most of time they do nothing. and in fact it does only 2-3 WU per day
((((
It`s very disappointing.

PS.
And also - can i configure cpu-core count? i ve got 16 but want leave 2 for work and browsing (for personal usage).
On foldingPower=Light it uses only 2 core (and other is unused)
on foldingPowerMedium he used all cores. where i can configure that?

I've been doing this for over ten years and have never encountered a work shortage like this for either CPU or GPU. This is a very unique time in F@H's history given the surrounding world events and recent publicity. Roll with the changes.

Thank you for the explanation.
One point to bear in mind is that -new people- to Folding at Home need to be looked after. I include myself in that group. I have been doing distributed computing with boinc since 2004 so I am not a newbie, but coming here and not being able to get a WU on 3 laptops for... forever *feels like it* is disheartening to say the least.
I-m not sure I can interpret the serverstats page correctly, either. It looked like there was loads going on, but nada. Still not computing.
Please, baby sit us for a bit, until we are all happy that the problems are foldingathome side and not on our PCs. If a new user downloads and is worried that their pc may not be working with foldingathome... they may give up. If it is just a question of waiting. Well... ready and waiting!

baby sitting and patiently waiting are no problem, the project director is looking at some fairly rapidly deployable solutions today to help with the shortage of work, but F@H is not your typical website in a datacentre. The I/O and storage requirements are huge so fingers crossed. In the meantime carry on asking questions and waiting for work.l

Using the Configure function in FAHControl you can set the CPU thread count to any value between 1 and the total number of threads your CPU supports. If you have a GPU folding, at least one thread needs to be reserved for that.

Thanx, i found it
Configure -> Slots -> Cpu -> Edit.

BrauBarau:
In the FAHControl
- Click the CONFIGURE in the top left - that opens a popup
- in the pop up, double click the TYPE - CPU - that opens a popup
- in the 2nd popup the CPU pulldown probably says -1 that means the system will allocate the number of threads to allocate to folding
or you can set it yourself. Somewhere on the F@H forum is a posting with tips for setting the CPU threads like withhold one for each GPU you will be folding with, withold one or more for your general surfing and computing, and there is a not about F@H not liking large prime numbers or multiples of prime numbers of threads (I think the example was don't set 7 threads but set 6 instead)
My Ryzen 5-2600x has 12 threads so I have allocated 8 threads to F@H
Also to keep an eye on CPU heat, my MB has AURA software for the RGB and one of the settings (SMART) set to TEMPERATURE so it makes the eg: RGB on the RAM display the CPU heat. I set Temperature1 = 60 and Temperature2 = 82 so if the CPU heat gets above 82 the RAM sticks turn RED and if I am CPU folding but below 82 the RAM is YELLOW. When I am not CPU folding the temps drop below 60 and the RAM turns GREEN. It's a great way to monitor whether my CPU is folding or not.

Wow, it` realy interesting about heating i`ve got core i9 9900k it`s hates up to 81C ( with water cooling ) - im cleaning them week or two ago - it was full of dust after year of usage. There was not dust but dusty powder!!!
How long CPU can work in that temperature? My top before - 60C on my personal calculation and i`m a little scared when watch this for first time.
F@H in logs says that it`s no temperature control
