RX680 GPU mining rigs

Hi there

I have a number of multi GPU mining rigs that I consider setting up for this project. All on Windows 10.

Is AMD RX580 to old to take full advantage of this? I see AMD 5xxx or newer is mentioned in the requirements. I set up a 6 GPU rig and got 3 GPU's folding at the moment. Task Manager shows 17%-20% load on one of them and 0-2% load on the other two. Fans are running and I can feel some heat, but no-ware near when mining Ethereum.

I read somewhere that 1 CPU tread is needed per GPU. The CPU's used have 2 cores and 2 threads per core. That means I can only use 4 GPU's for folding even tho all 6 are "Running" or "ready" in the control window? Will I have to disable folding on the CPU to get 4 GPU's running?

AMD driver should be set to "compute" right?

FAH 7.5.1
AMD Driver Adrenalin 19.2 on Windows 10 Pro 1909 64 bit (FAH reporting 32 bits)
Intel Pentium G4400 @ 3.3 GHz, 4GB RAM

The RX 580's are definitely new enough to work, GCN based or newer is okay. Some older cards based on Teerascale 2/3 work.

With AMD cards their driver shares CPU's better than the nVidia drivers, so you probably can run all cards with some small amount of loss in throughput. Running on Windows is more of an issue, the way it handles the PCIe lanes is not as efficient as Linux. So depending on how the cards are connected you may lose some processing speed there.

Beyond that, some others may weigh in on setup details for a rig like yours.

Finally, due to the sudden large increase in persons donating their systems this message may apply - Subject: Temporary server outages

Eventually all GPU's should get assignments, they are working to get more servers and projects online quickly.
