Hi all,

This is a correction to a previous post, where I didn't follow the correct formatting for posting for technical information, that's my bad.

Basically, when I turn folding power to "full" or "medium"... or any time the GPU decides to kick in to work (e.g. when idle), my network connection drops like a rock. My typical connection just refuses to connect, and a secondary connection works VERY slowly. I'm not sure why this is the case, and any help is very much appreciated!

I would suspect one of two things.

First, your PS might not be up to supplying sufficient power when the CPU and GPU are fully engaged, and insufficient power is getting to your wireless adapter.

Second would be something not properly shielded, and that is interfering with your Wifi connection.

Can you move something closer and try using an Ethernet wire rather than the WiFi? That would eliminate one of those possibilities.

I'll try the ethernet troubleshoot when I get home later tonight. As for the power draw/requirements... I'm not sure if that's something that can be fixed on a laptop (it works when running a demanding game, though it might not be to the same requirements at F@H?)

It also could be a limitation in your laptop's cooling. Laptops are typically designed with insufficient cooling and FAH pushes against those limits. Adjusting the fan can help. So can propping it up on bottle-caps (or a professional laptop stand). Never run you laptop on a bed inasmuch a large percentage of the heat goes out the back.

Sorry for the delay! I actually have been super busy recently and haven't gotten the chance to try the ethernet option.

Cooling doesn't seem to be the issue- running my fans at full speed keeps temperatures around 60 degrees for both my CPU and GPU.
Running my GPU without the CPU leads to the same issues- not sure if it's power limiting in that case. Could something in the hardware actually be configured strangely?
