Retrieval of points folded under typo name
I set up another P4 rig at the beginning of December and was wondering where the points where going. Ive just discovered my folding name contained a typo. Is it possible to retrieve the points or are they lost forever? Both the team number and passkey were correct, only the name was slightly out.

The points are not lost, they will show up under the name that contains a typo. However the PG policy is that points already awarded are not moved to a different folding name or team. If they were folded with a passkey set, a search done just by passkey on the official stats web site will include the points.

Thanks for the quick reply Joe. While I appreciate transferring points between names, teams or other is not good policy, is there not a reviewer who can distinguish a typo. It is only an additional fat-fingered backslash that messed it all up. Points for 5-ish bigadv projects is no small potatoes.

Mind you, if I can't even get my name right I probably deserve to loose the points.

There are many who could review this. But then it becomes a slippery slope of which ones to combine, and which ones not, and all that time just reviewing requests would be better spent reviewing the science looking for cures and not at donor account requests. And rather than spark and endless debate about what accounts should be fixed, and what not, it was easier to keep the door closed from the very start of the project.BadBertie wrote:Thanks for the quick reply Joe. Yeah, appreciate the time could be better spent. No harm in trying.
