Automatic Power Adjustment

I was wondering if it is possible to set F@H to automatically adjust it's own power level?
For example to use 50-75% power when someone is using the computer.
And 100% of power when there is nobody at the computer??
I'm guessing which F@H client a person is using would make a difference?
I'm currently using 7.3.6_x86 ... I tried installing 7.4.4_x86 and had problems with that version ... so I went back to the previous version.
Thank you!!!

The CPU slot already does that. Fah runs below normal priority, so other programs will always get the CPU cycles they need.
The GPU slot does not. GPUs aren't built that way. It's either folding at maximum speed or not folding and it doesn't share gracefully.

The client version makes very little direct difference. Virtually none between 7.4.4 and 7.3.6 (unless you benefit from a bug fix that keeps you folding longer).
Between v6 and v7, there are significant differences that mean in most cases v7 is best.
The major differences in folding performance come from the cores which the client runs, and the GPU drivers. Cores may specify a minimum client version, so if a core that runs well for you needs a newer client, your PPD may suffer. In general newer drivers are better, but THERE ARE IMPORTANT EXCEPTIONS, so search (or ask) here to find recommendations.

If you would like to make use of the GPU without encountering the screen lag, make sure that you set the GPU Slot to fold only when idle. There are various methods to detect idle state (
http://folding.stanford.edu/home/faq/fa ... ion/#ntoc3) so once your system is idle, your GPU would be utilized. In V7.4.4, you simply right-click on the GPU Slot and select "On Idle" option. I am not sure if that method is present in V7.3.6 or not. If not, then, you can use this method:
Step 1: Open up
Advanced Control (AKA FAHControl)
Step 2: Select the
GPU Slot and click
Edit
Step 3: Under the
Extra slot Options, enter the following:
Name:
idle
Value:
true
Step 4: Click
OK then
Save
Step 5: Ensure that the Folding Power Slider is set to
