Cannot get GeForce 9600 GT to fold

Any ideas where to look or what to do would be appreciated. This is a long time problem, I just had this computer rebuilt and heat will no longer be a problem.

Unstable machine error? Too much overclocking? What driver version? Please post the *** System *** section of the log file.

Can you please provide us with the initial section of the log which includes the system configuration and F@H configuration? Also, what driver version are you using on your system?

For a Java free option, you can download and install GPU-Z (http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/) which will give you the driver version along with additional GPU information.

I'd recommend running memtestG80. There's a possibility your GPU has a hardware problem. We've had a couple of reports of GPUs which would not fold but which seemed fine when just used for video. A memory error might cause an imperceptible change to the screen but produce incorrect scientific results.

Both WS's supplying Core_11 WU's are online and from the logs assigning and receiving work. There appear to be some short periods where no assignments are recorded, whether that is due to lack of WU's or is just no requests for work I can't tell.

Please stay on-topic.

This topic is not about servers and assignment failures ... the log that was posted DID receive assignments and those WUs received an UNSTABLE_MACHINE (122 = 0x7a) error message almost immediately. That's a local problem, not a server problem.

I'd recommend running memtestG80.
I downloaded this and can only get it to run by clicking the exe file. I cannot get it run as a command so as to run a thousand times. If can help me on this it would be nice but it looks like I will not be able to use the GPU. I am opening the Command as an administrator.

Thanks for your attempt to get me going with the GPU.

Open the text window (aka DOS box/aka Command prompt/aka CMD prompt). Assuming you downloaded it into a place called
\Users\Bruce\Downloads (and that's just an example, use your actual value), enter the following commands:
cd \Users\Bruce\Downloads
dir

Confirm that you see it there, and if so, type it's name.
