#1034 ERROR...Exception...Server responded: HTTP_SEE_OTHER

I am getting this error using an internet connection in an hotel. This error does not occur using other internet connections, but the hotel internet connection seems to function perfectly for browsing, email, downloads and video streaming. If you have run into this error before please advise how to overcome it - I would rather not change hotels.

You would probably run into the same or similar error even if you changed hotels. Most, if not all, hotel internet services block a number of ports or communication types on their connections. They usually also have proxy servers involved. There might be information in your log that someone here could use to give you a workaround, but the only real good source would be someone who manages the hotel internet service.

FAH's preferred connections start on port 8080 and if that fails, it reverts to port 80. Proxy servers commonly intercept port 8080.

I've never had to do this, but hopefully it will work. Tell the hotel ISP person that you don't mind using their proxy, but your software needs to be configured to address the proxy server directly. Presumably it will be a network address and port 8080. Configure FAH's proxy settings with whatever they give you.

I spoke with the ISP who told me that their service does not block any ports. Having used v 6.23 successfully for many years in hotels around the world I uninstalled v7 and reinstalled 6.23. I am happy to report that this connect to the internet from this hotel without any issue. Sorry it took so long to get back to you but the first WU it downloaded was a particularly big one. This would seem to point to an issue with v 7; could you investigate and let me know when it is fixed please?

Sounds like a IPv4 vs. IPv6 issue. v6 software doesn't suppport IPv6, so that may be the difference.

But you should really be using v6.34 for CPU & SMP, and v6.41 for GPU, to make sure you get full access to all available servers. Many work servers are set to v6.29 or higher as the minimum version.

Has this issue now been fixed? I can see ticket 1034 but there is no indication if the problem has been fixed.
