Quad-helix DNA

Scientists at Cambridge have discovered quad-helix DNA in humans, more complex than the typical 2-strand variant. Could help solve the mysteries of cancer like F@H is.

Color me "skeptical"
He predicted the structure and then established a test giving strong evidence that it is present. That's a good first step, of course, but where does the cancer come in?
In everything I could find to read, he didn't show any connection to cancer. Is that part just wishful thinking or is there some kind of a scientific connection?
