I have the Folding home software installed on my pc and my ps3, I used the same username which is Brian_Coleman_Chwaszczewski and my team number is 160131. My stats are only updated from my ps3, My pc is downloading for days and my clients downloaded has not gone up from 7 even though it has downloaded quite a bit.

Let me give you a quick rundown on how F@h works since you seem to have gotten some of the terminology mixed up.

The client is the software that runs the whole process. The client downloads a core, which is the scientific software that does the actual calculations. When it has the right core, it then proceeds to download a Work Unit, which is the folding simulation that will be run. The WU gets crunched for some amount of time; this varies based on hardware, client type, etc. When the WU is finished, it's uploaded, credited to your account, and another WU is downloaded. The download and upload don't take very much time, and the client does not actively download anything when the WU is being processed. The stats are not updated with respect to a specific WU until it is returned.

I took a look at your stats page and you now have 8 WUs completed. I assume before you only had 7. The PS3 client usually finishes WUs in 6-8 hours of continuous folding, while CPU WUs can take multiple days depending on the hardware involved. What CPU do you have? It should be noted that if you installed client version 6.23 you're working on what are termed uniprocessor WUs; these only use one core of your CPU regardless of how many cores it has, and as a result they are rarely completed all that quickly.

To support the information mentioned above, your most recent WU from a PC client for Brian_Coleman_Chwaszczewski (team 160131) is WU (P7808 R9 C213 G3) and it was added to the stats database on 2011-10-25 09:47:23 for 1698.09 points of credit.

It took 6.44 days to complete this WU so it's simply not possible that your client has been downloading more WUs during that 6.44 days unless somehow you're running multiple PC clients. When you post the log, that will be apparent.

What kind of CPU does your PC have?

Thanks for posting that, Bruce. The WU from the PC wasn't there when I checked earlier this morning, but it may be Brian has only actually completed one WU on the PC so far.

My Computer is a Hewlett- Packard HPE-500y, my processor is an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor 2.70 GHz, with 8.00 Gigs of ram.

The time it takes to run a WU on your cpu depends on a number of factors. The Project running, the options you use when starting the client, cpu speed to name a few.

In your case you are using 1 out of your 6 cores which is akin to running only uniprocessor WUs. If you want to produce faster results you could add -smp to the command line which would run considerably faster than your current setup. It's always a good idea with version 6 of the client to add -verbosity 9 to the command line as well in order to maximize the info that is added to the log.

Your command line would look similar to:

I sounds like you only understand part of what has been said. (I apologize if I'm explaining something that you did, in fact, understand.)

First of all, there can be wide variations in processing time, depending on the project. Please see the Project Summary and notice the wide variation in deadlines. There is a relationship (though it's somewhat indirect) between expected processing time and deadlines. One think that can be noted is that all of the current PS3 WUs have a deadlines of 3.0/6.0 days. (The current Server is 171.64.65.83) and since everybody has what is essentially identical processing power, everybody returns WUs in the same amount of time. Neither of those facts apply to projects for the other clients.

Second, because of the missing -smp flag, your current assignment is using only about 19% of the capabilities of your X6. After that has been corrected, your next assignments will be entirely different.
