Hi, fresh and wet behind the ears here, can some1 review and advise if i got it right for a GPU and the system icon says its sleeping and the display window now shows about 42% complete using a EVGA 460SE card only

p.s. i did run the CPU first from the link page when looking for the GPU program, but it directed me to CPU client version instead, (i'll explain in another topic),
and have since removed the :- Launch directory: C:\Users\##########\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-CPU (folder),
but not restarted the GPU program..

I would try using the V7 beta client, express setup with gpu slot as described in the install guide -> http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinGuide

I am not sure what the core status code means, wiki only references it with regards to the smp client, but I see lots of reports from gpu3 and v7 where this code is given, and my gut tells me it has to do with V7 not being able to mix different vendors. ( error code returned when the runtime isn't engaging as expected? )

I'm not saying V7 will work out of the box for you or at all, but it's worth a try. I do have a vague memory about your card maybe not being whitelisted but we'll have to see.

ok.
quitted the gpu client and checked the nvidia link for supported card, and mines on the list as good, so now with the client control setup for GPU, its looking decidedly better already and says its :- local , online , running.
lets see over the next few hours what develops..

The 3d viewer will steal cpu cycles from your boinc client, don't think you would want that, it's only an 'enhancement' so people can show of to others what folding actually is ( visual aids are easier then explaining in words is my experience ).

FAHcontrol can also be minimized it will not stop folding when it's in the system tray.

Can you post your V7 log here in [code][/code] tags? That way you don't have to wait, it will indicate if the client is configured properly and is running, if you're seeing the same issue as before it will already be clear from the log.
