I'm new to folding. I'm using the SMP client but when it asks for "CPU usage requested (5-100) [100]?" I say 50 but the client is still using 100% of my CPU.

Welcome to the F@H Forum Stene,

If you are using the SMP2 Beta Client v6.30 with the -smp flag, then please note that the CPU Usage request has little or no effect. If you want to limit the CPU usage, then you need to use the -smp X flag where X is the number of CPUs you want the F@H Client to use. Do note that the F@H Client runs at low/idle priority so your normal applications will run without any issues. For further troubleshooting, we will need your FAHlog (Details) and some basic information about your system like CPU Type, Operating System, etc.

Method -> (http://fahwiki.net/index.php/How_do_I_a ... _client%3F)

Please note that the value of X isn't the CPU usage. It is the number of CPUs your Operating System has detected, i.e. on my Intel Core i7-860, I can use -smp X where X can be any value from 2 to 8 (both inclusive). Maybe if you can tell us your CPU Model by running CPU-Z, we can advise you on the X value.

BTW, is there any specific reason you want to limit CPU usage?
