For more than 24 hours, I can't connect to this Server so my SMP Clients are idle :( I have tried all possible flag combinations but it just won't work. Below is the message that is in the FAHlog:

Code: Select all

[16:07:41] + Could not connect to Work Server

I noticed that on the Server Status page, under AssignedPort it is 80, 80 and I can't see 8080 so could that be the issue?

Serverstat is showing both % Ass and % Ass 80 as blue/purple which means the server is saying it doesn't have any WUs. Frankly, something else is also wrong since you're getting error 403. There's probably nothing that can be done quickly or until the server's owner returns from whatever the holiday time he celebrates there.

Are there no other servers with WUs for your client?

Opening http://171.64.65.65:8080/ in the browser gives me "Access Denied by security policy" message.
Opening http://171.64.65.65/ in the browser gives me a blank page (no OK or binary transfer).

1 of my SMP Client downloaded a WU from http://171.64.65.54:8080/ while the other one is still trying to connect to http://171.64.65.65:8080/ :(

Why does the client still get sent to the same server by the Assignment Server? As I recall, there was a two-bit counter that would time out and send you off to another WU Server. My systems have hit at least a dozen different servers, yet in Ver. 6.23 any time there is a glitch - bad link, no WUs, bad packet error, etc. - the AS still sends it back to the same dead server.

I posted my logs in the thread viewtopic.php?f=18&t=16952#p169362 - have seen as many as 17 tries to get to the same assigned server; lots of wasted time. :(

I really wish that the AS would direct me to another WS, currently this is my statistics:
First SMP Client -> Total 30 attempts and was reassigned to another Server only once.
Second SMP Client -> Total 82 attempts and hasn't been assigned to any other Server.

My i7 has never been idle for that long since I assembled it :(

Hi, too bad to hear the WS is still not giving you any WU. From what I see on the AS, this WS is up; from what I see on the WS, it is giving out assignments. Sorry and I'll keep looking into it.

Thanks for your efforts. Currently both my SMP Client have been assigned a WU from http://171.64.65.54:8080/ and ETA is ~4 hours and 16 hours so will inform you if any changes on my side.

This seems odd.
I have one system that has been assigned to this server for quite some time.
Here is the latest upload/download record from the Fahlog.

I just tried to access http://171.64.65.65:8080/ and http://171.64.65.65:80/ but neither one gives an OK - yet looking at the Server Status 171.64.65.65 shows it as being fully available. The only glitch I see up the log is that at around 01:00PST every day the server goes into Accept Only mode, and I presume that is to do updates and server maint. Looks as if there is something bollixed is Stanford's net code, as Dr. Pande alluded to in an earlier thread.
