GTX260 won't run anymore

It seems I can't post my log file until I post 0 posts. I don't understand that message but anyway, I hope this will satisfy the 0 post requirement so I can post my log. The GPU client program used to run just fine, now it will not. I didn't change anything, Was the program updated silently recently?

Welcome to the F@H Forum dcboron,
Can you please tell us what GPU you have? Also additional details like OS, CPU, etc would be helpful. I did check the download links on the High Performance Clients and everything is fine. Do you mean that you downloaded 6.32? If so, then 6.30r2 is just another way to represent this information.

I have a Intel 2.5 quad core, with 4 mb of ram ( win32 OS, so it uses 3 mb ) I run Windows XP MCE, and I am using a XFX GTX260 video card, I am not sure about the client, however I am sure I downloaded the 6.23 gpu version. It ran fine for a few months, now it just crashes every time I try to run it.

Well, according to the FAHlog you have posted above, it is the 6.32 Version. Nonetheless, you might want to upgrade to the to the latest version which is in my
GPU Guide, Section
5 - GPU3 BETA Client Download Locations and see if it mitigates the issue. If it doesn't, then it could be a bad WU so then you have to:
A) Delete the queue.dat file
B) Delete the work folder
C) Change the Machine ID to another unique value. (this is optional but in certain situations, can be recommended)
D) Make a new thread with the PRCG in this Forum -> viewforum.php?f=19

Ok thank you for trying to help me. I tried what you said and as well as following the instruction in the links you provided, however it did not help. It closes the program with errors. I don't wish to waste any more of your time, Thank you again for trying to help.

One of our teammates had a similar sounding problem.
It was not until he updated the drivers to ver 260.99 that successful folding was accomplished.
I did not see a mention of drivers here, so I don't know if this has already been addressed.

Thank you also, I neglected to mention that I am using the 260.99 drivers. I think that is what has caused my issue. Prior to the 260.99 drivers it was running fine, at this point all it does is close the program. I have tried also to roll back the drivers with no success, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program many times, I have also tried the various versions available and I still can not get it to run. I am at a loss for ideas as to how to rectify the issue, I guess I don't have what it takes. Thanks for trying to help.

Sorry you're having so much trouble...
When you rolled back your drivers did you use a
driver sweeper?
If not, it may help to do so in returning to earlier drivers.
Also, in your client configuration, whatever you have the value of "Acceptable size of work assignment and work result packets" set to, you might try changing it to something different.
I have had the experience at times where, if set to "big", I could not receive work until I changed this value to "normal", and vice versa.

Yes sir I most certainly did use a sweeper. I unfortunately can not even get into the program to change anything, I run it and it crashes. When it first started doing this, it would work just fine as long as I did not display the work, every time I would display the work it would BSOD the system and reboot, I simply continued and did not display the work while it was running, which seemed to work fine for a time. Now it loads and crashes right away, so I can not even get into the properties to adjust anything. A few times on the multiple times I have uninstalled and reinstalled I would adjust the settings prior to beginning the work, to no avail. I guess at this point there is nothing I can do, maybe on the next client release I can try again.

Just to clarify what you have tried. Did you try 6.40r1?
viewtopic.php?p=158851#p158851
After "dropping in" that client you should delete queue.dat and the contents of your work folder. It wouldn't hurt to also change your MachineID to a different but still unique number.

Sadly, use of the viewer feature can cause problems, including system instability.

Also, you do not have to get into the program to change your settings. You can edit the client.cfg file in notepad.

I was only suggesting that the MachineID # could be changed without needing to run through the setup process again. It was my understanding that this was allowed seeing as it is my information that I am editing, not anything to do with how the client runs.
