Should I use SMP client?...

I have already have the classic client running on my laptop but curious if I can run the SMP client at the same time?

Information copied from Speccy. It shows I have 2 Cores with 4 threads. I am just curious if my laptop could handle running 2 clients at the same time?...

Please note that you can run either:
1 instance of Classic Client (
Details)
Multiple instances of Classic Client (
Details)
1 instance of SMP2 BETA Client v6.30 (
Details)
Now regarding your laptop, I am not sure since you haven't stated if the laptop is constantly on the move or is it always connected to the power socket. Also do you use your laptop for CPU intensive applications or not. Do remember that to keep your laptop ventilated to avoid heat build-up.

Thanks for your reply. My laptop are always connect to the power socket since I rarely carry it around unless I needed to. I seldom play any games or running any CPU intensive programs in my laptop. At most I just browse the web or use MSN...

I'd go with the v6.30 SMP client.
I'd like to point out a potential problem to people who are new to folding@home.
You should know that this client now supports both single processor and multiple cores. If you do not specify the -smp flag when running the client, it will default to single processor core. A friend of mine has a dual core cpu like you, but because he didn't specify the -smp flag he was not getting the performance he was looking for. a quick way to tell if you configured it properly is to see if FahCore_a3.exe is running and if windows task mgr shows full cpu use.
