No appropriate work server was available [Resolved]

Post by birefringent »

An hour and a half and still no work unit. If I hadn't been here to see I wouldn't care, but I was and do.

I'm running [email protected] Has it been updated again like last time this happened?

v6.29 or above is supported in Windows.

And I just Pinged Pande Group on this.

Its not just you Anthony, i've got exactly the same problem and i'm running the latest console version. I'll close this client down till the morning and see what happens. If the Pande Group has already been Pinged about this then it could be a server issue?

I just got an SMP WU on a dual core system 15 minutes ago, so we may just be low on WUs, not entirely out of WUs.

I saw the same thing, seized the moment to do the security upgrades on the server having the issue. All was well when I restarted the client. :)

Thank you everyone. This machine is folding again.

Of course I've lost 8% of one typical WU's folding time that I'll never get back again. Oh how the children weep.

Turn your AC down and your overclock up a few degrees the next couple days, and we'll call it even. ;)

I believe that it is a Classic Server and from the log (http://fah-web.stanford.edu/logs/129.74.85.15.log.html) it is not accepting from Sun Sep 5 13:55:10 PDT 2010, please add 7 hours to convert from PDT to UTC/GMT

From looking at that log it is accepting after the date you mentioned. I've re-reconfigured my client as it appears I forgot to add the -smp parameter when i last reconfigured it but i still get the same issue but obviously on a different server

Code: Select all

[07:33:03] Loaded queue successfully.

[07:33:05] + Could not connect to Work Server

Issue has fixed itself now, it eventually managed to d/l a new WU on its own accord.

Self fixing might be due to you fixing the -smp flag thus requesting work units from the right server with the right configuration paramaters :)
