Code: Select all

Download Speed: 2724 kbps (340.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 721 kbps (90.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
I left the client with a "-send all" flag and went into town; about an hour later it had not uploaded. WWW was a little wonky at times on this Win XP install, I know the hardware and network connection is O.K., when booted to Linux all was well.

I finally sneaker-netted the whole directory over to my other Windows machine, and it did upload and exit. I'm not seeing anything out-of-the-ordinary with this XP install, but the 'hang' of the upload seems to be related...

Follow-up

O.K., I'm seeing a pattern here- the two i7 920 machines I have that are running XP Pro/XP Home 32 bit have exhibited connectivity issues, when they are running the P 2685/2686 type WUs. Other type WUs(60xx, 670x) don't have effect the machines net connectivity. One of the two affected rigs has since been switched over to W2K8R2(64 bit) and no longer has this issue.

I don't know specifically why this occurs, I just know what I'm seeing here... I wish I hadn't activated the XP Pro install, or else I would wipe it and go with W2K8R2.

...I think I'll go ahead and install W2K8R2 anyway, I just won't be able to reactivate the XP Pro again for about six months.

;)

As always, we will need to see the contents of the fahlog.txt file from your PC client to help us diagnose the issue. Thanks.

Now is when you need to start looking at your network setup and your ISP.

On the PS3, use the broswer and see if you can get to the following address:
http://171.64.65.83:8080/
That is the server that handles the bulk of the WU's for the PS3 and it should provide an OK. if not, then that is where the troubleshooting starts.

For the PC, look at what the server IP is of where it got the WU and see if yo get an OK prompt from a browser.

If you get "OK" on both the PC and the PS3 and if you know how to read a packet capture, collect one and and in there will be the answer of why you can't send. Chances are, you can but the transfer fails because of too many drops. I've had the issue in the past, I created a policy and policed the transfer to a low rate. Down the road I was able to remove the policy and haven't used it since. It could be your ISP is having an issue or your connection is having errors.

Explain why others do not have the the issue that you do. There is something unique to your setup. Suggestions have been given, if you decide to use them is up to you. Given that you can download them but no upload them is saying something about your connection.

I Don't mean To Be A Pain in The Butt But Its Just Annoying I Just Get Angered Not At Ya'll But Me. My Connection Is Fine No Probs. My ISP Has Checked It Out Thoroughly & Can't Find Anything Wroung I've Did What I'm Capable Of & Can't Fix It. I Just Don't Know What Else To Do I'm At An Utter Total Loss On What Ta Do. Im Rather Knowledgeable About My Systems & My Connections But I Can't Figure This Out. Its Kicking My Butt. I Have All This Data & I Suddenly Can't Send It On My PC. And All The Data On My PS3 & I Cant Get It Sent.I've Tried The Suggestions Even Went All Out Opening My Ports Wide Open Unblocking Every Thing Allowing All Data/Traffic. But I Cant Get Anywheres. What Am I Missing. Ive Looked At Every Thing Checked Every Thing & Find Nothing. My ISP Even Checked To see If Anything Was Being Blocked & Seen Nothing. They Ran Thourough Test. There Must Be Something I'm Missing. But What?
