A small percentage of WUs reach a condition where the model no longer is an accurate representation of the real process. They get uploaded for partial credit (sometimes very small, sometimes not) and eventually get discarded.

A certain percentage of computers are unable to calculate results accuratedly (perhaps due to overheating or overclocking) and they also produce results that must be discarded.

It's impossible to tell whether the error you experienced was a bad WU or a result of bad hardware. The best recommendation we can make is that if errors like that are are rare, it's probably not your hardware, so ignore it. If they're more frequent, you'll need to figure out how to fix the hardware.
